Mining is an exciting Profession used to gather materials for blacksmithing, engineering, or Jewelcrafting. However, you dont need those Professions to be a miner. You could simply collect resources and sell them. You're going to find these spots anyway as you travel throughout the world, so why not cash in on them?"
Mining is a great way to earn gold as you level throughout Azeroth. Like the other gathering professions, it doesn't cost much at all to train, unlike some of the crafting professions.

With proper gear, a maxed out miner can spend all day in Sholazar Basin, raking in piles and piles of gold from mining alone. Be warned, however - if you are on a PVP server, there are many other people out there trying to mine these nodes as well, as they bring the greatest amount of money on the auction house. To farm the Sholazar Basin nodes on a PVP server is just asking to get ganked.
